The AssociateDirector,Patient Assistance Programsisresponsible forthe execution ofall aspects ofthe program’soperationalstrategy,including vendormanagement, application of applicable AZPoliciesand collaboration with key internal stakeholders. Theywill supportprogramacumen toUS Patient Support,MarketAccessStrategy,andBrand teamsin order toensurethe roleoffree goods programsis represented. TheAssociateDirector willreport directly to theDirector ofPatient Assistance Programsandinteract and collaborate effectivelyacross all functions within AstraZeneca.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily oversight and management ofAZ&MeäPrescription Savingsprogramand other PAP programs offered.
Responsible for vendor contracts and holdingvendor accountable for all program operations, Key Performance Metrics (KPI), Service Level Agreements (SLA), and superior customer experience.
Liaise with internal stakeholders in Legal, Compliance, Corporate Affairs,Market Access, Finance,Purchasing,Operationsand ITto ensure on-going compliance and success of programs as well as todemonstrateviability and success ofprograms;present periodic program updates to senior leadership.
Work collaboratively with AZ operations and compliance colleagues to develop and refine program Business Rules and Client Work Instructions which provide explicit instructions to the vendorin accordance withAZ policies.
Lead cross-functional effort tomaintainand improveAZ&Mewebsite and supporting resources
Support audit efforts, ensuring suppliers adhere to AZ policies and regulations
Coordinate the development of all printed andweb-basedprogram communication materials for the programs and consult with internal legal and compliance resources to ensure compliance with AstraZeneca and external standards.
Perform annual review/refresh of training modules and conduct training sessions with field sales, Access360and Field Reimbursement Mangers to reinforce PAP policies and provide theappropriate levelof understanding of program operations by role
Develop andmaintainstrong working relationshipsacross Market Access, Customer Facing teams,Legal&Compliance, and IT.
Liaise with key external stakeholders todetermineand implement opportunities for strategic partnering.
Define measures of program success and provide solid analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis to cross-functional teams as well as AZ leadership.
Manage programbudget.
Position Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
Education:Bachelor's Degree (MBA or other related graduate-leveldegree is preferred).
Minimum of5years of total business experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in reimbursement,market access, Corporate Affairs, finance, compliance, and/orregulatory.
Successfultrack recordof performance in role(s)focused on reducing barriers to access through customer oriented logistical support programs(i.e., HUB, PAP, etc.), training and quality of those programs.
Vendor management experience, preferably in managing a PAP program or patient HUB services.
Proven project management skills.
Excellent Interpersonal skillsandstrong verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible withpositiveattitude and ability to prioritize projects.
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and drive outcomes in a matrix environment
Ability to travel 10 – 20% of time
PreferredBackground
Experienceinpharmaceutical manufacturer Patient Assistance Programs (PAP).
Experience in Biologics or Pharmaceutical Specialty Products preferably in Infectious Disease, Respiratory,Cardio-Renal,Inflammation, Autoimmune, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neuroscience.
Knowledge and understanding ofregulatoryreview process.
Knowledge and understanding of operations & distributionprocess.
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $145,000to $217,000. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
